Snead book and I am seriously looking forward to her backlist! 5 stars without a doubt!One small warning: very, very emotional! I love all types of romances (hot, sweet, mystery, action, you name it) and A.M. Snead immediately became my new favorite author for when I want a character-driven, purely emotional read. Ms. Snead has a unique writing style that may not appeal to all readers, but I enjoyed the use of scene breaks within the chapters, as well as the abundance of dialogue. Both are used to move the story forward. She also makes use of flashbacks, and transitions between the past and current with ease and without confusion for the reader. These elements, plus her actual word choices that make up her style are what makes the book so intensely emotional. I laughed, cried, caught myself holding my breath more than once, and got angry at the bad characters. When I finished, I felt like I'd been through an emotional wringer but at the same time extremely satisfied. It's a great story!! (And I was totally surprised by one of the plot elements!)No spoilers, but there are issues that the author handles with an ugly reality but also with sensitivity and great care. She is very insightful into human nature, and all of the characters ring true in both actions and dialogue. In fact, the banter between all of the characters is very good; with the banter between the brothers, and between Adam and Sam, being exceptional. The characters became so real that I was totally immersed in the story and could "hear" the dialogue in my head as I was reading. Also have to mention that the sex scenes are frequent and hot!If you are looking for an intense and sexy character-driven read, I highly recommend "Boy in the Shadows" by A.M. Snead.

Wish there were more Adam's in this world, what a heart stealer. Sam's brother is so amazing his love has no bounds.I came across this author a few weeks back and since have read all her books listed and have not been disappointed.Recommend~

Hardwick Author A.M.Snead has done it again….Boy in the Shadows is a winner with a little added surprise in the mix.I completely fell in love with this book and I want other people to fall in love with it too. I want to shout about the book from the roof tops…but I don’t know what to say. There is a twist in this book that I did not see coming. A twist that I don’t want to tell in my review and ruin the surprise for anyone who has not read it.So here is what I will say:Boy in the Shadows is about Adam who falls in love with the mysterious and tortured Sam. The book follows the trials and tribulations that Adam will go through to prove his love to Sam (with the help of Sam‘s brother Braeden). My heart broke at the pain Adam felt at the thought of not having Sam in his life. My broken heart shattered even more at the thought of Sam walking away from Adam without even fighting to keep him.A.M. really knows how to torture her readers. But she always redeems herself with the love scenes.There is quite a bit of humor dispersed in parts of this trilogy. I love the way Braeden bemoans the fact that Adam and Sam are rather vocal during their romantic encounters….and there are quite a few hot encounters.So all in all, would I recommend Boy in the Shadows to M/M romance fans? YES! YES! YES! What are you waiting for? Sam is waiting for you to discover his secret, and fall in love with him like Adam and I.

It jumps around so much and I can't follow it at all. For example, the blurb says he woke with powers after a ritual. In the book, the ritual starts, then in the next paragraph his friend is waking him up, everything has changed, and they have to run away. I seriously re-read the scene several times because it made no sense.Then later on, they are running away, and he sits down next to a river, and there are a bunch people sitting at a table (people who have never been introduced in the book). and someone is coming through a door and there's a swordfight.The second turned out to be a dream. Was the first a dream within a dream? Either way, there are graphical signals publishers use to tell a reader that a major scene change is coming, rather than just running one paragraph into the next."And arguing could wait until the odds of winning improved. Hiro sat and ate, and when he was done with a half-loaf of fruited bread, he set his drawn sword across his knees and leaned his head back though he had, according to Ume, slept for five days already. The sun was warm on his face as he fell into soft darkness. “So I told him,” Tarwo said, “‘Take one? I mean to leave one!’” Hiro snorted laughter and around the table his friends did the same. Tarwo grinned and raised his glass in silent tribute, then his eyes went wide as he stared over Hiro’s shoulder. Hiro turned to look."This is just in the sample. I think I'd like the story if I could follow it!

James embellishes his biography as well as adding a photo of himself as a handsome buff model. So now we know that R.P. is a male hunk with a degree in Economics and a minor in creative writing. He further sates `When I am not busy writing, you can find me on the tennis courts or in a Taekwondo Dojang. I write books about strong sexy women and the hot alpha males who love them. Of course, step brothers and Billionaires are welcome too ;-) My tastes are every expanding, so keep your eyes peeled for my next hot, steamy, romance!' So we have another short novella from a young man who has a growing sophistication in writing steamy erotica. Not one to settle on Billionaires, or Stepbrothers, or Highlanders, or Shapeshfters or any of the many categories in which he places his sexy characters, he also explores same ex affairs in a time when that topic is the center of much media coverage. R.P. explores these affairs with a fine tuned sense of balance between character development and steamy sexual encounters..Apparently Amazon doesn’t want this story shared, so just a bit of applause for KIDNAPPED – it has many themes that will satisfy completely anyone who enjoys steamy erotica. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Don't bother with this, even if it is free By Rose Formatting is awful, and the writing is so passive that it became boring. This is more like a first draft, than a final publishable novella that is worth spending money on. The story is dictated like someone relaying a story, rather than making you feel like you're seeing the story unfold as it happens. I tried jumping ahead to see if it improved, but ultimately the formatting got to me. Double-spaced, no spacing between paragraphs or first line indents, and with no conversation the entire first chapter, it was like a wall of text that was fluffed up to try to make money by artificially increasing the page count.

This story is a roller coaster of action, intrigue, mystery and a whole lotta sexy. I love how Edward Kendrick's books range from sweet and sexy, to action and adventure, to mystery and intrigue and some paranormal.....amazing stories.This story is wild. Dylan is a somewhat ordinary guy who happens to run into a ex that treated him like crap and controlled his life, they decide after running into to each other to have a hook up for old times sake and that's when the wild ride begins. Dylan's life is forever changed when Tommy and Dylan's little get together forces Dylan on the run. I loved how he met with Mars. Yum Mars is a bad ass biker guy, tough as nails and so damn sexy. Dylan learns more about Tommy and the bad things he was involved in and was tasked with taking down the organization Tommy belonged to. Loved Dylan and Mars together, they are sexy as hell but also they have each others backs and protect each other, both are amazing and kick butt guys. Love the secondary characters such as Emmett, Vicki and all the other C21 operatives. I loved how the story progresses, action packed and wow!!! There is a ton of sexy too. Great story Can't wait for more with these characters (I hope). 4.5 stars

It's brilliant and I loved it. The story line was well written and easy to follow with the suspense, action, Romance, and relationship. The character development was amazing. Dylan, who accidently killed his ex lover, was approached by Mars, a member of C21 Covert Operations who go after criminals that other organizations can't seem to get. The police were after Dylan, and he really had no choice but to join them. Upon meeting Mars, another beautiful gay man, the two of them hit it off and both of them didn'tt realize where it was going. They end up going to the main training center so Dylan could get the training he needs, but was sent out with Mars on a job and did incredibly well. With Mars getting pretty banged up with bruised and fractured ribs, Dylan realized how dangerous this could be and the feelings he had for Mars were beginning to surface. This is the story of the two men who found each other forming a strong bond and exploring one another sexually and emotionally. It's full of action which is never ending, suspense, and Hot Sex with a romantic undertone. Edward is amazing and I highly recommend this one.

This story has many twists and turns! The Sgt. Billy and Corporal Sam continue to entertain with the oddball comedy and music that they are famous for. They haven't lost it at all and the co-stars are also very good. I would highly recommend you consider adding this new program to your library.

From Library Journal There are at least ten other translations of Pirandello's black comedy of post-World War I life, either in single editions or in anthologies, dating back to 1922. Last year, in his 23rd and last season as artistic director of the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA, Brustein presented this adaptation of Pastorino's translation of the play. The changes tend to the minor: the play has been cut by nearly half, some characters have different occupations, and actual puppets replace Pirandello's puppet imagery. What, then, have we here? While the language is not that much different from other translations, it's certainly pitched more to the American ear, and the length is geared more to the modern American's attention span (and seat). Who is sane and who is mad, and for how long can we perch on the knife edge of these conditions remain the central questions. The title character's role demands an actor of considerable sophistication and presence, which may keep it out of the average community theater. Aside from that, the play's set design could make the strongest impression (that is, with a proper budget). Although an undeniably interesting take on Enrico, this is not essential for libraries owning other translations. Entertaining, but subtelties lost on a theatre novice By ScrawnyPunk Adapted for a 90-minute production, Enrico IV is a quick read that is rewarding although lacking in comparison to other great plays. We are offered a brief glimpse into the world of an (apparently very wealthy) Italian nobleman who has taken on the role of the 11th century Holy Roman Emperor Heinric (Henry, Enrico) IV. The role begins as a psychotic episode initiated by a horsing accident and continues as his madness fades and `Enrico' chooses the role over what he views as the absurdity of reality. Pirandello offers other themes as well in this short study: the nature of actor versus character, reality versus illusion, and the place of psychology in a world that prefers madness to rationality.This adaptation appears to have been developed for theatre and students of theatre. Although I enjoy theatre, I am not a student of the form and therefore claim under-appreciation through ignorance. As it stands, the conclusion seems obvious and no character seems as powerful as `Enrico.' I would have also enjoyed the deleted historical exposition concerning the alternate reality chosen by `Enrico.' Are there actual similarities between the historical figure and the actor? Did the historical figure possess characteristics the actor wished to see in himself?Overall, this appears to be a `must read' for students of theatre based on other reviews, but merely a `pleasant read' for everyone else. Quick and entertaining, but lacking the explicit depth of some of the better-known plays.

Pirandello's Art: A Kingly Paradox By A Customer Enrico IV (Henry IV), is probably Pirandello's second most known play, right behind his immaculate Six Characters In Search of an Author. The play takes place in the "throne room" of a man who thinks he is Enrico IV (the Holy Roman Emperor) ever since he fell off a horse at a masquerade party. His friends and former lover return with a doctor and try to cure him of his insanity. They humor him at the beginning, then they try to find a way to resolve his mental problem. Eventually Enrico reveals that he is indeed not insane, but regresses (voluntarily?) back into his mask of playing Enrico IV. This play beautifully presents Pirandello's common themes and contains a beautifully operatic ending just as I expect from the Italian master. I recommend this book for any Theatre, English, or Comparative Literature student. This edition and translation of the book leave out a lot of useless historical references and create a very clean reading of the play. I highly encourage you to read Pirandello, anything and everything you can find, he is truly a genious of the theatre.

I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for an author to come along and write for the LGBTQ community where a story is NOT centered soley around the sex! Although I did thoroughly enjoy the sex scenes in this story! Very well written.This story had wonderfully well defined characters, (Piper being my absolute favorite), political entrigue, and a wonderfully relevant social commentary, which was embedded in the undertones, and not too overtly preachy, which I really appreciated.From beginning to end, I had a very hard time putting the book down wondering what would happen next.My one caveat to any future readers, is to push past the opening wedding scene where Silveren goes over the family pedigrees. I think that was a bit lengthy, and made me think, "Oh dear this book is going to be boring..."However once I got past that single part, the pacing was excellent and the story progressed wonderfully!

By Mary ann blanch I thought this novel was absolutely gorgeous, well written and each character beautiful in nature. It was cutting edge and a nice alternative to most romance novels I've read. It is LGBTQ friendly and is just lovely. It's not all about sex and the act, thereof. It's truly a romantic story of two people falling madly in love with one another and enjoying the time they get to spend with each other. I love the writers imagination and how he captured every detail as you envision in your mind each character, each town, the country and each building. It's very colorful and I can not wait until the next segment. I can't wait to read what becomes of their relationship. and the whole lot.

It had its own unique style and flow. In the beginning of the book we are introduced to a large amount of characters, clans, Royal and Lesser houses. It was a lot all at once and I had a little bit of worry that I wasn't going to remember who was who or what was what. Luckily the author was smart enough to put an appendix at the back of the book for us to refer to if we happen to get confused and have trouble remembering. Believe me, it comes in handy because this is a huge world with a lot of characters and houses.The world building in this book was on point! The author is very descriptive and knows how to describe this world perfectly in beautiful detail. This world was brought alive in my mind. It is a world you will not easily forget. The descriptive writing was done elegantly. The author has a beautiful way with words.The characters in this book are hard to forget and easy to fall in love with. I loved Echo and Stratus. They were my two favorite characters in the story. Their love for each other was so beautiful and pure. The romance in this story was done very tastefully. It was not trashy by any means. There is a magical element in this book that we get to see a little bit of but it's not the main focus in the book. The story is more of a political romance with an undertone of magic. This fictional story had a great message as well. The characters fought for what they believed in and for equal rights. The right to choose who you want to love. I really loved the whole concept of this book. For a first novel this was purely splendid!My only downfalls with this book were that I would have liked to see a little more of the magic side. I felt like I was just told about the magic more than shown. Hopefully in the next book we will get to see more of the magic and the characters powers being put to use. At times I felt a little lost and confused in the story. Only because the main characters had so many cousins, aunts, uncles, and enemies. It was hard to remember at times who was from what house. Yes, again there is an appendix at the back of the book, but when I'm reading a fictional story I really don't like to have to keep stopping to refer to a key.I would recommend to read this story slowly and when you can read it in one sitting so you can soak it all in and hopefully remember all the characters and houses in the beginning. For the most part I really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters and the world. I just wish I didn't have to remember so much all at once. I think maybe the book could have been a little longer so we had more time to get to know the characters and houses. This story was imaginative, elegant, and beautiful. I would definitely read the next book in the series for sure. I definitely want to read more about Echo and Stratus. I loved those two!
