Please, someone tell me when the next book comes out. I so need to know what happens next with Nox and his gang.First, this series really needs to be read in order. But seriously, you won't regret it. It's amazing.WHO KNOWS THE DARK started right where the first book left off. Nox and his son, Sam, escaped New York, along with Cade, Mason, Rachel, and Damian. They were headed to South Carolina to stay with Cade's family farm to try and hide from the mess they found themselves in.Even though they escaped the drug lords and police that were after them, all is not well. Sam was seriously injured, Nox had some major trust issues with... everybody, and they really had no idea what they're going to do once they reach the farm. Will they be safe? Will they only bring the danger to Cade's family? Can anyone they brought along be trusted?There are so many secrets and questions, twists and turns, all mixed in with emotions running on high. Things got much more serious between Cade and Nox. They started to realize that there's more to what's between them than just sex. No matter how hot and raw their sex was, they started to rely on each other in ways they weren't ready for. They didn't like it, not one bit. I can only hope for more progress in the relationship department in the next book. Maybe even those three little words? A girl can dream. I seriously love these guys. Even when they're being stubborn fools.All that emotional stuff, and Nox also had to deal with his past and the lies he's told. Things caught up to him and now he's gotta face the music and his son. It was heartbreaking, to say the least.I really loved it all. The action, the secrets, the romance, the awesome cast of characters. Not to mention the sweet and adorable secondary romance between Mason and Sam. Gah! I just want to squish them.Tere Michaels really hit it out of the park with this one. Like I said, start with the first book and then get ready for a crazy ride.So... about book 3? Anyone?
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Nox isn’t happy and it’s all making Cade unhappy By It's About The Book Nox, Sam, and Cade and their travel companions aren’t yet safe. Sam is getting sicker by the minute and being doted on by his almost boyfriend. Nox isn’t happy and it’s all making Cade unhappy. So, an unhappy Cade shows up at his family farm with his ragtag band of fugitives and has to deal with the family he left. It’s all… uncomfortable. Nox settles in to try to solve the puzzle of who is behind the drugs in the District. There are layers upon layers of people and phony organizations to sort through. Once law enforcement shows up they all know it’s time to leave the Creel farm, but there is some serious emotional upheaval before they all leave. Nox makes his way back to the District, that’s where things start to go wrong.I have to confess I was really confused about what was happening in the beginning. It would be good to go over the previous book before reading this. This book still has plenty of immediate danger, but there is more time for the characters to think and reflect on the course of their life and their current troubles. Cade in particular spends a lot of time dwelling on his life choices and wondering if he’s ever made a good one. Consequently, this book felt pretty angsty. There is a whole lot of family drama. Some of it I really didn’t see coming. Nox and Sam need to walk similar paths, and neither man is happy with that. At all.Some mysteries are demystified. Alex is found. Now no one likes him. One mystery was resolved by something way out of left field. I haven’t really processed how I feel about it. Could be an awesome writerly device, or not. I’m reserving judgment and being deliberately vague. Other things still appear nebulous even though I may know all the major players I don’t necessarily see how they fit together.That ending. Damn. It was dark indeed. I really want the next one. Nox and Cade’s relationship is progressing, they’re getting to see the ugliest parts of each other right off. I enjoyed this book, but preferred the more action based first book. Since hairy things are happening that need a resolution I do really want the next one.
